Policies & Mission
We are open to serve you, answer questions or schedule an appointment during the following hours:
Monday - Thursday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Our Mission
Our mission here at the Digestive Disease Clinic and Tallahassee Endoscopy Center is to put the needs of our patients first, and to provide the highest quality of care to the residents of Leon County and surrounding areas by providing fast, efficient service in a comfortable facility.
Appointments
Each DDC physician has scheduled days for seeing patients in the office – by appointment only. To avoid unnecessary waits and rushed visits, please keep your scheduled appointment and arrive on time. When at all possible, please cancel office appointments 48 hours prior to your appointment, and cancel procedure appointments five days prior to your appointment.
Telephone Calls
Our staff can assist you if you call between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, please call between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. When you call the Clinic, please tell us your name, which physician you see, and why you are calling. The reason for your call will determine how we can help you better.
Routine Calls: The Clinic receptionist can schedule appointments and return visits. If you need to speak with a nurse, one will return your call after reviewing your records. Please tell us if your call is “urgent”, so we can give it first priority.
Prescriptions & Lab Results: Calls for prescription refills can be taken only during regular office hours. Please don’t call “after hours” for routine refills of your medicine. Lab tests (for blood work, x-rays or a biopsy) take time; the results can’t be known right away. Please allow at least a week before calling for the results of your lab work. We’ll let you know as soon as possible, of course, if the results are abnormal.
Emergencies
A DDC physician is always available for “after hours” emergencies, of course. Just call 877-2105 and our answering service will contact the on-call physician for you. If possible, please call the DDC office, 877-2105, before making a trip to a hospital emergency room. If it’s a critical emergency, get to the nearest ER or call 911. Have someone at the ER notify a DDC doctor by calling 877-2105.
Insurance
Our office is committed to helping you maximize your insurance benefits. Because insurance policies vary, we can only estimate your coverage in good faith but cannot guarantee coverage due to the complexities of insurance contracts. Your estimated patient portion must be paid at the time of service. As a service to our patients, we will bill insurance companies for services and allow them 45 days to render payment. After 60 days, you are responsible for the entire balance, paid-in-full. Any services performed at the Tallahassee Endoscopy Center are billed separately from — and in addition to — DDC charges. If you have any questions, our courteous staff is always available to answer them.
Hospitals
DDC doctors are on staff at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital (TMH). Inpatient (overnight) care is available at the hospital, and outpatient procedures may be done there or, if you prefer, at the Tallahassee Endoscopy Center (TEC) within the DDC building.
Smoking
Smoking is not permitted in the office, waiting rooms or rest rooms at any time.
Privacy
Medical information about patients is confidential, so we won’t release information about you to someone else without your written consent. Privacy is a right — and we respect yours. Read more about your right to privacy here.
